DIEGO RAMIREZ presents: "The Horrible Affair Between A Sadistic Image and a Masochistic Text"

Ramirez will explore representations of race through the guise of terror. The talk will reference historical and contemporary images to show how medieval monsters, demons and vampires belong to a Western tradition of racial vilification in visual culture.


DIEGO RAMIREZ is an artist, writer and occasional curator. His sullen work consists of cinematic and pictorial montages that combine new content with found material to re-evaluate media. He is represented by MARS Gallery (Melbourne).
