SOPHIA CAI presents: ‘Disobedient Daughters - On Imagining Asian-Australian Feminism’

Disobedient Daughters is an ongoing art project that critically examines stereotypical images of Asian women. In this talk, exhibition curator Sophia Cai will discuss the collaboration between artists and writers that form the 2021 iteration of this project, presented at Counihan Gallery.

SOPHIA CAI is an independent curator and arts writer based in Narrm/Birraranga (Melbourne, Australia). She is particularly interested in Asian art history, the intersection between contemporary art and craft, as well as feminist methodologies and community-based practices. She is the curator of Disobedient Daughters.
