Hana Pera Aoake presents ‘In the moment of crisis, what is required?’

In partnership with Westspace.

This talk explores what an indigenous led future could look like. Hana Pera Aoake will think through an expansive kaupapa maori worldview in which abolition can hongi with mana motuhake - indigenous sovereignty. The relationships between colonialism, unfreedom and labour is one that we must untangle.

Hana Pera Aoake (Ngaati Mahuta, Ngaati Hinerangi, Waikato/Tainui) is an artist, writer and teacher based on the unceded whenua of Kai Tahu. Hana holds an MFA from Massey University Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa (2018) and was a recent participant in the ISP programme at Maumaus escola des artes.
